The polarization is slant linear, which allows equal reception of vertical, horizontal, fight-hand circular, and left-hand circular signals. The antennas have null-free toroidal pattern about the azimuth axis. (This type of pattern has a null at 90 degrees to the azimuth plane.) Applications include surveillance, ESM, and broadband acquisition in connection with direction finding systems. The -1 model (Dwg. 754060) includes an integrated erosion shield and protective urethane film, which together provide increased radome life for airborne applications.
