Several variations of the STANDARD Missile (SM), including SM-2, SM-3 IA, SM-3 IB, SM-3 IIA, and SM-6, are currently deployed or in development, providing U.S. and allied troops with unparalleled missile defense capabilities both above and inside the atmosphere.

Key Features

Our Role

L3Harris components support several variations of the Standard Missile. The Mk 72 booster and Mk 104 dual-thrust rocket motor provide first and second stage propulsion. L3Harris' Throttling Divert and Attitude Control System (TDACS) helps maneuver the kinetic warhead of some of the SM-3 variants into the target for the final hit-to-kill impact.

L3Harris incorporates throttling solid rocket technology advancements into the TDACS design to provide increased mission flexibility to the warfighter while maintaining the safety features of solid propellant.
