Alarm & Announcing Systems

Product Specifications

L3Harris' rugged, resilient, high-performing systems feature the best audio quality in the industry. L3Harris' modular announcing systems are designed for use in high-ambient noise environments, including the flight decks of aircraft carriers, enclosed compartments of military and merchant marine vessels, offshore platforms and large commercial venues such as stadiums, railroad stations, tunnels and factories.

Currently deployed systems range from systems driving eight speakers with 40 watts of audio amplification to systems operating more than 1,100 speakers with 24,000 audio amplification watts.

Multiple levels of redundancy and failover are designed into these systems to fit the needs of the customer. These systems may be housed in a single rack or multiple racks to ensure that the system will maintain announcing capability in all spaces if complete rack goes offline.

Our expertise in meeting all specifications of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) and U.S., U.K. and Australian militaries adds significant value to our products. L3Harris' designs have been audited by the ABS and certified to meet all IMO SOLAS requirements.

SOLAS rules have been invoked more frequently by the military shipbuilding community to ensure that mission-critical alarm and announcing systems provide the survivability and coverage required to communicate information and alarms clearly throughout a ship during emergency situations.

Microphone control stations provide the user interface for our alarm and announcing systems. They range from analog, mechanical devices to microprocessor-based digital units.
