Critical Interoperability Between Legacy Systems and P25
The Encompass Gateway application runs as a Virtual Machine (VM) on the L3Harris VIDA® Network, delivering critical interoperability between legacy systems and P25 mobiles, portables and base stations. It also supports standards-based and proprietary systems, giving users an expanded choice of vendors for equipment investments. In addition to basic group calls, Encompass Gateway will pass Caller ID, Emergency Calls and Console Pre-empt Calls between a L3Harris P25 system and a legacy radio system.
The application’s Digital Fixed Station Interface (DFSI) protocol operates with VIDA to simultaneously interface with P25 trunked sites and DFSI-enabled base stations. This allows Wide Area Networks to use both types of RF sites, reduce costs and deploy a robust critical communications solution. Encompass Gateway offers access to 4G technology using BeOn®-enabled handheld devices and L3Harris XL-series radios, giving users powerful new capabilities of converged LMR and LTE.
