FlightLens®

Situational Awareness

FlightLens gives you total freedom to pause, replay, advance, scrub timeline, go live, record, etc., using familiar DVR-like controls that slide out of view until needed. Maximizing video display size is always a priority. Controls are provided for adjusting volume, balance, brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, taking snapshots, forwarding and full-screen display. You can also display video in it’s own pop out window.

FlightLens

Tiling

FlightLens is designed to support monitoring of multiple video streams simultaneously. All open video streams are shown live in a scrolling strip of thumbnails. You can create a tiled array of larger views by dragging thumbnails to the main view. Playback views are automatically sized and arranged, can be easily swapped in and out and are color-coded to match thumbnails.

FlightLens

Mapping

Knowing the camera position and look angle is critical to understanding what you are seeing. A slideout map panel uses embedded metadata to display the position of each video source and the footprint covered by the video on a zoomable vector-based map—you can even show your position on the map*. Pluggable architecture provides for future mapping solutions such as Google Maps™.

*Requires an NMEA serial GPS feed

FlightLens

Metadata

You can view embedded metadata values like location, attitude, speed, etc. by opening the metadata slideout panel.

FlightLens supports all the major metadata standards, including MISB 0601.0, MISB 0601.4, MISB 0102.7, MISB 0104.4A, and MISB 0608.3.

FlightLens

Sharing

FlightLens includes features that make it easy to save, convert to other formats and forward video.

FlightLens has built-in support for every major video, audio and metadata streaming standard.

  • Video: MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, MJPEG, H.261, Analog
  • Audio: MP3, AAC, PCM (8-bit stereo, 8 kHz)
  • Metadata: MISB 0601.0, MISB 0601.4, MISB 0102.7, MISB 0104.4A, MISB 0806.3
  • DVR Control of Streaming Video

FlightLens Player software provides unprecedented situational awareness through a robust video management platform. The newly improved, user-friendly situational awareness console gives the user broad awareness via video tiling, peripheral awareness via video thumbnails and mission information via standard metadata displays. Built-in, offline, vector-based geographic information as well as online mapping data via Bing® maps are available for simultaneous mapping of the base location, remote vehicle location and remote vehicle's video footprint.

Robust video player data error handling improves mission capabilities by increasing remote vehicle range, preventing remote vehicle loss and avoiding aborted missions. FlightLens Player does this via robust algorithms that automatically manage data corruption and packet loss, display available video data as long as possible, avoid codec crashes and promptly reacquire partial or complete video streams. This robustness overwhelmingly outperforms other streaming video player solutions.

FlightLens Player now comes with an integrated Digital Video Recorder (DVR) with instant Replay/Pause/Rewind that provides control over critical video intelligence during live missions, or when reviewing archived video. Live or archived video conversion (transcoding) and distribution (recording, forwarding, or re-streaming) provides the ability to control bandwidth and manage distribution to command/control or other audiences. Snapshot mark-up, annotation, and transmission tools help to clearly communicate visual messages during missions.

Mission configuration and setup time are reduced with built-in compatibility with major video, audio and metadata streaming standards (see below) and with automatic detection and display of live video streams using Session Announcement Protocol (SAP) and pre-configuration of known video streams.

The FlightLens software is available for immediate purchase and download from the FlightLens website.
