If asked at the dinner table, how would you describe what you do?

I am an electrical engineer. I lead the design, development and manufacturing of hardware and circuits that interact with, measure our physical environment and enable a few impactful technologies in our everyday life.

Why do you like what you do?

I’ve always been passionate about electronics and technologies. It’s a great sense of pride when you build technologies that work to improve – not to complicate – the qualify of life and to lead to a better understanding of our own self being.

What is the future of your technology/product area?

The future is limitless, with the evermore integration of engineering disciplines – from material science to semiconductor to digital engineering to artificial and machine learning. Radar technologies are evolving to be more intelligent, more networked and to give comprehensive and cohesive information about the environment for steering and decision making.

What is an engineering accomplishment that inspires you?

The commercial jetliner inspires me the most. It is a culmination of all science and technologies and represents the best of human intellectual capacity.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Tennis, camping, travel and spending time with my kids.
