Milwaukee Selects L3Harris to Upgrade City Communications Network

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Aug. 1, 2023 — L3Harris Technologies (NYSE:LHX) will upgrade Milwaukee’s mission-critical communications network, enhancing coverage and continuous connectivity while ensuring seamless integration to next-generation technology for the city’s public safety personnel.

L3Harris will replace the city’s radio system with industry-standard, Project 25-compliant critical communications, providing improved, city-wide coverage for more than 80 P25 network hubs. The company will deliver more than 4,000 radios, install new Two47™ Base Stations and modernize existing antenna sites.

“Public safety officials require a guarantee that their communications will work under all circumstances, with no interruptions, delays, changes or stops in connection – especially when migrating to new technology,” said Nino DiCosmo, President, Public Safety and Professional Communications, L3Harris. “It is our responsibility to continue providing customers with the most flexible, future-proof critical-communication solutions so they can focus on their jobs without worrying technology might fail them.”

L3Harris will provide the city of Milwaukee with the flexibility to tailor their network to their needs with designs built to easily and efficiently add new capabilities. This allows expansion and growth without the need for additional infrastructure or architecture investments.

The contract builds on L3Harris’ work delivering next-generation mission-critical communication networks to cities across the country as they migrate to new industry standards. L3Harris has previously modernized network systems in Florida, Massachusetts, Oklahoma and Texas.
