Equipping Global Forces with Cutting-Edge EO/IR Technology

Designed and engineered to meet the highest and strictest standards, the WESCAM MX™-Series of electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) imaging sensor systems has proven to be the next-generation mission solution for global customers. These modular systems provide critical capabilities such as accurate identification and designation at longer standoff ranges, complete with high-definition resolution, magnification and stabilization. They are often part of a larger integration of intelligence-gathering systems, providing operators, gunners and commanders with enhanced situational awareness across all-domains. Platform-agnostic and customizable to fit exact mission parameters, these modular EO/IR systems are designed to detect, project and protect, allowing combat forces to see objectives early, project information to operators at all levels, and contribute to the safety of the greater team.

Maintaining modern mission capabilities requires continuous support of each system’s operational availability. Upgrading current systems and outfitting new platforms across all domains with advanced WESCAM MX-Series imaging systems is an integral component of supporting the growth and sustainment of global armed forces.

L3Harris’ investments into heavily localized customer care eco-systems are providing armed forces around the globe with the practices, products and standards of quality they need to meet their operational requirements.

Localized Sustainment of Sovereignty

L3Harris prides itself in enabling worldwide customers with localized, regional operational sustainment capabilities, contributing to the protection of allies’ regional sovereignty across land, air and sea. Accompanying our WESCAM MX-Series integration is the inclusion of L3Harris’ WESCAM Customer Care EcoSystem. This one-of-a-kind support infrastructure includes dedicated teams and strategically located service centers that are fully equipped to support customers through technical support, logistics and on-site service requirements.

Part of this localization is the hiring and training of local technicians, manufacturing teams and maintenance experts who have specialized skills and knowledge of their local missions. L3Harris has invested heavily in its customer care ecosystem and the backbone of that support structure is our growing establishment of localized WESCAM Authorized Service Centers.

“Our global Customer Care Ecosystem allows L3Harris to deliver unparalleled service and collaboration to countries looking to advance their defense capabilities and address mission-critical needs,” said Tom Kirkland, Vice President and General Manager, Global Optical Systems, L3Harris. “Our customers trust us because we are committed to delivering field-proven, field-ready, reliable systems, and providing worldwide support when they need it, and where they need it.”

L3Harris designs and integrates each WASC into existing local mission centers, fully equipped with up-to-date diagnostic and repair tools and staffed by WESCAM MX-Series experts who can provide support through each stage of the product’s life cycle. Each localized WASC effectively reduces the need for lengthy and expensive offshore support services by keeping equipment as close to the mission field as possible.

Strategic Locations

L3Harris prides itself on technology solutions that answer the call of customers around the world who need the highest-quality imaging solutions that can withstand unrelenting environments and mission demands. If repairs are required, the L3Harris global ecosystem is designed to respond rapidly and return equipment to the field at full operational capacity. Each of our WASCs is strategically located across six continents to maximize the effectiveness of our turnaround time and support a globally diverse customer base that continues to expand. Our locations include Canada, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Korea and Australia.

L3Harris’ goal not only includes operational sustainment, but also optimized technological advancements across entire product lines. As mission requirements are adapted and battlefield conditions change, L3Harris is ready to provide new technology enhancements for ISR and targeting overmatch. For WESCAM MX-Series systems, this includes new upgrades to global positioning, multi-target tracking, enhanced stabilization and image processing and new advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

“The combination of rapid technological advancements and customer service is proving to our customers our ability to quickly adapt to mission needs and equip them for mission success,” said Kirkland.

Continuous Growth

Coupled with localized support, L3Harris is disrupting the traditional model of operational readiness, aligning with partner nations’ visions, allowing armed forces around the world to build their defense capabilities through local resources, partners and transfer of technology and expertise.

Notably, L3Harris’ Australian WESCAM Authorized Service Center is witnessing the rapid development of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) – a testament to the growing requirements of our customers, the evolving complexity of their operational requirements, and L3Harris’ commitment to deliver the best solutions.

The expansion of L3Harris’ local service center in Australia aligns with this growth, ensuring our services are in-step with the ADF’s critical needs for localized resources. L3Harris has provided advanced technology solutions to government and commercial customers across Australia for more than 40 years across all domains and is aligned with the country’s vision for a more secure future.

Similar growth continues to take place worldwide, with regional WASCs and facilities established or expanded at global locations including Poland, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, India, and United Arab Emirates.
